What is danny szetela?

Danny Szetela is a retired American professional soccer player who was born on June 17, 1987, in Clifton, New Jersey. He began his youth career with major league soccer team, New York MetroStars (now Red Bulls). After that, he moved to Italy's Serie A team, Roma, and then on to American club, Columbus Crew, where he helped them win the 2008 MLS Cup.

Szetela was part of various American youth national teams, including the U-17 and U-20 squads, and he was named the captain of the U-20 team at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Despite being offered a contract with A.S. Roma, Szetela chose to return to the United States in 2009 and joined the New York Cosmos in the revived North American Soccer League.

He was forced to retire from professional soccer in 2019 due to a chronic knee injury but continued to stay involved with soccer through coaching and his role as President of the New Jersey-based team, FC Motown.
